A leading online retailer of prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses with more than 1,000 SKUs. The customer is one of the Top 500 e-commerce sites in North America. The customer lacked tools to test and analyze prices and historically was hesitant about making price changes. The company considered a new "intuitive" price strategy, validation of which was set as one of the goals of our price test.

Solution and Results

Price testing was applied to all product categories with changes in the range of +/- 10% of the original prices. Besides price elasticity measurement one of the goals was validation of a new "intuitive" price strategy devised by the company. Results: 8.9% increase in total revenue due to price optimization. Rejection of the "intuitive" price strategy (which prevented a significant loss).
